Rochester, New York Natural Film Family Photographer
I love summer and photographing weddings and outdoor family sessions, but there is something so special about the quiet and colder winter months here in New York. We used to leave every winter for a few months to explore the warmer states down south. But since having our baby and being pregnant again, we’ve mostly stayed around the New York area between December and March, (with a few trips to DC to visit family!). This winter I launched our in-home film family sessions. I was so excited when I saw the Van Grols inquiry come through! They wanted to see if I’d travel to Rochester to photograph them with their little ones.
Cris Van Grol is a talented photographer and birth doula herself and it is always an honor to photograph other photographers. Together with her husband Rory, they own an amazing coffee shop in downtown Rochester called The Ugly Duck. We’ve had the privilege of having The Ugly Duck coffee at a few weddings we’ve photographed in the past, and it was always a pleasure for us to get to have! (And yes, I did stop by on my way out of Rochester to get a quick pick me up before heading back to Buffalo). The Ugly Duck just opened their second location in a Kodak Center in Rochester, New York! So you can grab a coffee and pick up a few rolls of kodak film at the same time!!
Natural Film Family Photography
Part of launching the in-home family film photography sessions is to honor my desire to capture families in their natural environment, doing what they do best, being together as a family in the comfort of their own home. And yes, I get asked all the time, I do travel for these sessions. I usually try to book 2 sessions in the area I am traveling to do help reduce the travel cost. This March I’ll be in NYC for a few family sessions and then again in the fall of 2019. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a session or inquire about travel rates!
