Capturing The Morning Light

I love being a photographer in Naples, Florida and to be honest, most of my inquiries request sunset when the initially contact me.

But, there’s something truly special about the mornings in Naples, Florida. The beaches are still quiet, the air is cooler, and there’s a softness to the light that just can’t be replicated at any other time of day. Over the years, most of my photography sessions have taken place at sunset—and for good reason: golden hour is beautiful. But lately, I’ve found myself pulled to the gentle stillness of the early morning hours, and families are starting to love them just as much as I do.

What I’ve come to notice is that morning sessions feel easeful. The pace is slower. There’s no pressure from the day yet, no tired kiddos, no heat radiating off the sand. Also, there is far less people around! Just the soft light, the rhythmic sound of waves, and the chance to start your day with intention and connection. Most of the time, we’re wrapped by 8:30 am, and you get to carry that sense of calm and presence with you throughout the rest of your vacation day.

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a family who embraced the idea of a morning session wholeheartedly. They arrived with open hearts and the sweetest energy, and together we created images that truly felt like them.
