Family Photos at The Ritz-Carlton Naples

There’s something uniquely effortless about planning family photos while staying at The Ritz-Carlton Naples. With the beach just steps away and beautifully landscaped grounds on property, it’s one of the most seamless and refined locations in Naples for a family or engagement session.

For families visiting on vacation, the biggest advantage is simplicity. There’s no need to coordinate parking, drive to a separate beach access point, or manage logistics with kids or extended family. Everything happens right where you’re staying, which allows the session to feel relaxed from start to finish.

Why The Ritz-Carlton Naples Is Ideal for Family Photos

The Ritz offers a combination that’s hard to match anywhere else in Naples: direct beach access, privacy, and beautifully maintained grounds all in one place.

Because it’s a private resort, the beach is typically far less crowded than public access points. This makes it much easier to find clean, open space for photos, especially during sunset when most Naples beaches are at their busiest.

The property itself also provides a variety of backdrops beyond the beach. The garden and fountain area behind the hotel offers soft greenery, shade, and a more intimate setting that works beautifully for both family and engagement sessions.

Morning vs Sunset Sessions at The Ritz

Morning Sessions

Morning sessions at the Ritz can work well, but they require a bit more precision.

Because the hotel sits farther back from the shoreline, it doesn’t cast the same extended shade onto the beach that you’ll find in areas like the Moorings. This means we typically need to start right around sunrise to take advantage of the softer light.

From there, I like to structure the session by beginning on the beach and then moving back to the shaded garden and fountain areas behind the hotel as the sun rises.

The family of four you see featured here with two young children was photographed during a morning session using this exact approach.

Sunset Sessions (Recommended)

Evenings are typically the best option at The Ritz-Carlton Naples.

For sunset sessions, I like to meet about 60 minutes before sunset and begin in the shaded garden and fountain areas behind the hotel. This gives us time to capture a variety of images in softer light before heading to the beach.

We then move onto the sand for the final 20–30 minutes, when the light becomes warm, diffused, and incredibly flattering.

Because of the private nature of the resort, finding space on the beach at sunset is usually not an issue, even during busier seasons.

A Note About Beach Conditions

One thing to be aware of at the Ritz is that the beach occasionally undergoes restoration work, particularly following storm seasons.

For example, during one of the sessions featured here (the week before Thanksgiving), sand was being relocated as part of ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Ian. This type of work typically happens outside of sea turtle nesting season, which runs from May through October.

Even during that session, we were able to photograph in a direction that avoided any visible construction, but it’s something to be aware of depending on the time of year.

A Note About Weddings on Property

The Ritz-Carlton Naples is also a popular wedding venue, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

During those times, certain areas, particularly around the fountain, may be reserved or in the process of being set up. That said, there are still plenty of other beautiful spots on property, including the surrounding garden areas, that work well for photos.

What a Session Feels Like at The Ritz

One of the biggest advantages of photographing at the Ritz is how easy everything feels.

There’s no coordinating travel, no rushing to find parking, and no navigating crowded public beaches. You can simply walk from your room to the location, take your time during the session, and enjoy the experience.
